So I have finished read The Auguish and Vigilance of Things by Richard Ali. It scores high on its use of using a different voice from the usual vox of poetry and a distinct use of metaphor in engaging the central theme of love and loss.
My particular interest with Konya Shamshrumi, the publishing impront of the book is that it aspires to the Pan-African just like my earlier post. Konya is borne out of a collective that is interested in serving as a portal and a community for African poets. There is still much more to be done and I hope to contribute to Konya as a non-trouble making member.
We will remember Konya Shamshrumi for birthing this collection.
