Bulletin No.11, Dekad 2, April (11 – 20) 2019
The 2nd dekad of agrometeorological
bulletin for April, 2019 witnessed slight increase in rainfall total and
distribution when compared with the preceding dekad. Most parts of the country
had above 330C except stations at Jos and Eket had below 320C. Highest
temperature was recorded in Sokoto (42.90C) and lowest at Eket (31.00C). Most
parts of the country are warmer than normal except places like Akure, Benin and
Eket which are normal and colder. The Inter-Tropical Discontinuity (ITD) is
expected to oscillate between Latitude 100N to 140N. Harvesting of dry season
crops and vegetables are still ongoing in some parts of the northern statesAgrometeorological

The 3rd dekad of agrometeorological bulletin for April,
2019 witnessed most parts of the country had rainfall amounts ranged from 0.4mm
over Oshodi to 162.9mm over Jalingo in 1-6 rain days while some part of north
remained dry. temperature ranged from 30.40C (over Eket) to 42.70C (over
Maiduguri). most parts of the country experienced warmer than normal
temperature anomaly with the exception of some parts of Eket, Makurdi and
Jalingo which were colder than normal. The Inter-Tropical Discontinuity (ITD)
is expected to oscillate between Latitude 130N to 160N. Harvesting of dry
season crops and vegetables are still ongoing in some parts of the northern
states.

The 1st dekad of agrometeorological bulletin for April,
2019 witnessed most parts of the country had rainfall amounts between 0.4mm
(Gombe) to 83.5mm (Makurdi) in 1-6days rain while some part of north remained
dry. Most parts of the country had above 330C except stations at Jos and Eket
had below 320C. Highest temperature was recorded in Sokoto (42.90C) and lowest
at Eket (31.00C). Most parts of the country are warmer than normal except
places like Akure, Benin and Eket which are normal and colder. The
