Media polarized over Tinubu’s sickness reports By Abdulmumini Adeku.

The Nigerian media has showed a lot of bias since it emerged that Ashiwaju bola Ahmed Tinubu, former Governor of Lagos State has been down with what looks like a terminal problem.
Investigations by Paedia Express Multimedia in Lagos showed that the politicians seen by many as one of the bastions  of political resistance in the opposition has actually brought over the highly critical press.
In 2009 ,Paedia Express Multimedia learnt that some top line media managers at The Nation ,The Guardian, Thisday ,The Punch ,now moribund National Life, Television and radio  industry executives all had plots of land ,houses at Ikosi Road around the Shangisha area of Lagos courtesy of the political titan.
The Source had noted in frustration that with the media bribed to that level and with others continually placed under monthly salaries he does not know how the misdemeanors by the politician will ever get known by Nigerians.
A source  recently confided in this reporter when he note that the former Governor did not even make any enquiries about how the News Magazine in which he was believed to  own 45 percent was faring because of a reportage over Mrs Ajumobi’s money laundering [problems with the London metropolitan police.
The politician was said to have told the Bayo Onanuga led company that they were trying to destroy his investments by exposing Senator Ajumobi’s wife in the print media and over the web.
The source said:”I remember that it was the Editor-in-chief,Mr Bayo Onanuga that wrote the report and pasted it on facebook,so they had to resort to begging Asiwaju as they needed his money to stay in business”
“eventually Tinubu accepted tehm back as they worked for him very well during his certificate scandal crisis days,he however told them that he needed otitoju to head the newsroom revolution at TVC,he is also said to want to restructure HITV and make them win back the juicy premiership football rights as part of efforts to gingerTVC t the path of profitability “
“The news magazine is only selling just about 100 copies as at press time as the low advertising and cash crunch era continues to bite harder.
Tinubu ‘s hold on a lot of media organization such as TVC,Radio,Continental. The News Magazine, The Nation Newspapers among others is now a source of worry to real practitioners because he is known to be one of the people with cases to answer in a very proper setting.
Only National Pilot,a pro Jonathan publication has written on the reported sickness of Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu while the heavyweights of the press has so far refused to do any investigations on the matter because of personal interest rather than professional interests.
It would be recalled that during the recent launch of the book, the Iconic footprints of a Diplomat by Chief Chukwuemeka Anyaoku, Former Governor Tinubu was a noticeable absentee together with his wife, oluremi.
His representative and former commissioner of Health ,Dr Lekan Pitan told the gathering that Chief Tinubu had to travel abroad for an urgent surgery with his wife.
The unavailability of the All Progressive Congress [APC]strongman has meant that he has not been able to contribute to national discourse since the crisis that erupted within the rival Peoples Democratic Party started recently.
