The Desert Warriors of Algeria are new  toast of African Football courtesy of there all round display at the 20th Edition of the Soccer World Cup in Brazil.
In There second round match   played against the German Mannshaftt in Porto Alegre last night, the Algerians showed grits, guts, verve, passion and determination as they caused the Former and three times World  soccer Champions,Germany all soughts of problems for 120 minutes before succumbing to the agony of defeat but with honor.
The Germans and the Algerians have been football enemies since 1982 as the latter despite defeating the former by two goals to one and then beating Austria by three goals to two did not qualify as the dubious  Europeans played out the vibrant African side out by playing accord football thus pushing out the North Africans on goal superiority .
For all that industry, the entire world never forgot the brilliance of players like Rabah Madjer whose back heel goal when his club side F.C.Porto defeated Bayern Munich in the finals of the 1987 European Cup is still been discussed till date, the inimitable Lakhdar Belloumi,Assad,Bensoula,Cherif Oudjani,Fodil Megharia,Djamel Menad,Djamel Aman,Goalkeeper Nasredine Drid and Abdelhafid Tasfout.
At this  years World Cup, the Algerians came into the competition unheralded despite there illustrious past  unlike the much pampered, proud and arrogant Super eagles of Nigeria but in the end there resourcefulness is now documented in the sands of time.
Desert Warriors of Algeria anchored their play on the ingenuity of the crafty Yacine Brahimi and the Lion hearted Striker Islam Slimani as they tormented opponents at will with there uncommon tactical discipline.
The Arab Bedouin team also had so much to rely on as players like Rafik Halliche,Madjid Bougherra, flying cat Goalkeeper Reiz,Ghoulam hard working Abdelmoumene Djabou means that the team which can also be called or referred to as the Desert Foxes  or the Greens of Algeria have now woken up from there deep slumber in football wilderness as they have laid a solid foundation for the future of Algerian football.
In a related development ,The Super Eagles of Nigeria have bowed out of the world cup with the fight over FIFA’S World Cup largesse accounting to a major source of distraction and eventual loss by the team.
It will be vital to note that Nigeria’s participation at the Senior World Cup since 1994 has always been marred with the incessant fight over money as the case was in 1994,1998,2002,2010,2014 World Cups, in fact the Confederation Cup held in Brazil last year almost witnessed the absence of the Super eagles until The President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan stepped into the crisis as corruption inside the glass house, the Nigerian Football Federation continues to stifle Nigeria’s progress at the full international level.
In there second round match against  Les Bleus of France, The Nigerian team’s loss of concentration in the second half of the tension soaked encounter after the unfortunate injury to star midfielder ,Ogenyi Onazi of Lazio Football Club,Italy ensured the collapse of the engine room of the team.
In all fairness to the Nigerian team four clear penalty appeals were turned down by the centre referee, while it was difficult to understand why the terrible challenge by Blaise Matuidi of Paris Saint Germaine in France on Onazi Ogenyi only earned him a yellow card when it was the second time the same player would be injured in the match and stretched out due to the enormity.
There is still a lot of debate on whether Emmanuel Emenike’s goal that was disallowed may have altered the final result of the match but the inability of John Obi Mikel of Chelsea Football Club in England and his midfield partner Victor Moses to raise the level of there games meant that Goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama was always under pressure all through the tournament  .
Couple of weeks ago,Paedia Express multimedia had consulted famous seer,Adaniwaiye at Ifako Ijaiye in Lagos ,Nigeria on the possibility of the Super Eagles of Nigeria winning the Senior World Cup and the wacko had predicted that Nigeria will win it ,well it will now look like all that has been thrown into the trash can in Brazil as true ability rather than metaphysics is at play.
The Algeria national football team, nicknamed Les Fennecs (The Fennec Foxes), Algeria has qualified for four World Cups in 1982, 1986, 2010, and 2014. Algeria has also won the African Cup of Nations once in 1990, when they hosted the tournament.
The traditional rivals of Algeria have been Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt. However, more recently, Egypt has become the main rival after a number of incidents involving the two teams, most recently during the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification, in which Algeria defeated Egypt 1-0 in a tense tiebreaker in Omdurman in Sudan to qualify to the World Cup.
Algeria caused one of the greatest World Cup upsets on the first day of the tournament with a 2–1 victory over the reigning European champions, West Germany. In the final match in the group between West Germany and Austria, with Algeria having already played their final group game the day before, the European teams knew that a West German win by 1 or 2 goals would qualify them both, while a larger German victory would qualify Algeria over Austria, and a draw or an Austrian win would eliminate the Germans. After 10 minutes of all-out attack, West Germany scored through a goal by Horst Hrubesch. After the goal was scored, the two teams kicked the ball around aimlessly for the rest of the match. Chants of "Fuera, fuera" ("Out, out") were screamed by the Spanish crowd, while angry Algerian supporters waved banknotes at the players. This performance was widely deplored, even by the German and Austrian fans. Algeria protested to FIFA, who ruled that the result be allowed to stand; FIFA introduced a revised qualification system at subsequent World Cups in which the final two games in each group were played simultaneously.[4]In 1991, the national team won the Afro-Asian Cup of Nations against Iran.
The Dutch can finally write there names in  the  history book as this years winner of the world cup with there outing as at press time simply awesome or intimidating.
They are usually called the best team in the world never to have won the World Cup at full international level.
They scored a whooping 28 goals during the World Cup qualifiers with Dutch master ,Robin Van Persie accounting for eleven of them.
Star winger  and fleet footed bald headed Arjen Robben who plays for German side,Bayern Munich had scored six times in his last seven international games before destroying Spain.
Holland has produced such illustrious names in soccer like Rudi Krol,Roland Neeskens,Johann Kruyff,Marco Van Basten,Ruud Dil Gullit,Frank Rijkaard,Ronald Koeman,Ronald and Frank De Boer,Edgar Davids,Clarence Seedorf,Patrick kluivert among others.
Some of the greatest coaches in the game also hail from the land of the Dutch and they are Rinus Micheals,Leo Beenhakker,Arie Haan,Guus Hiddink,Dick Advokat amongst many others who have made a name for themselves in the round leather trade.
They came into the match against the Defending Champions of the World ,Spain in a vengeful mood while the latter showed traces of disrespect with the way they played tactically and they paid dearly for it.
Re move the letter “s” from Spain and will have pain, this ominously describes what the football world Champions experienced in their debut game at this years edition of the world cup as they were simply taken to the swords by the Orange Gang of The Netherlands .
The two teams had played in the final game four years ago with the Spanish team winning by the odd goal but in this particular game  of two contrasting halves ,The Spanish team dominated possession in the first half of the game as the Spanish noted for there free flow pattern of soccer “Tikitaka”held possession at 63 percent as compared to the Dutch’s 37 percent but could not break down the latter.
It was not surprising that this half saw Andres Iniesta  dictating the pace of the game with his mastery of the game thus leading to the opening goal.
With some few minutes to the end of the first half the Dutch responded with a textbook goal as Dutch grand master Robin Van Persie  correctly read a long range aerial ball which he latched on to via a flying heading in a looping manner over an advancing Iker Cassilas who had been displaced in goal.
At the resumption of the second half ,the Orange Gang from Holland took over the entire proceedings  with the likes of Wesley Sneijder,Arjen Robben,Jonathan De Guzman,Nigel De Jong harassing and taunting the Iberian team to no end.
The Spanish were simply a sorry sight to behold as they could not match the pace, brilliance and team spirit of the Dutch team.
A fan who spoke to Paedia Express Multimedia after the game said that since the Spanish team paraded an old ,tired looking squad  they were sure going to have problems with a very young  Dutch squad which was laced with highly experienced internationals like De Guzman,Mmphis Depay amongst others.
In a related issue,Cartels showing digital satellite television would seems to have conspired against a lot of Nigerians in the Lagos area by bribing the Power Holding Company of Nigerians officials  so that vital matches played by Nigeria  and European football clubs during there active seasons will be watched by fans in the various pubs and viewing centers instead of the cosy comfort of there various homes due to the commercial value.
This years world cup  in Brazil is not any different as sources told this reporter in Lagos that there was power outage in such places like Agege,Ogba,Ifako Ijaiye, as the Super eagles played with the rest of the world.
It was also discovered that the level or quality of transmission that was been relayed by Globo Television in Brazil ,the host broadcaster to the Nigerian Television Authority through its partners via Broadcasting Organization of Nigeria was not in tune with the quality displayed by the 21st Century High Definition Technology as the voice was faster than the image been relayed to fans in Nigerian viewing centers. Terrestrially as against when viewed via DSTV Super sport .
Feelers as at press time suggests that Spanish giants,F.C.Barcelona  has lau nched an audacious bid of well over eighty million dollars to buy the under fire Uruguayan football god Luis Suarez from English side, Liverpool despite the biting scandal on Italian Defender Chiellini at the World Cup threatening to destroy his career as sponsors pull the plug on him as a result of the back lash of the incident on there image.
