A Hot Debate and Controversy is now following the tails of The Guardian Newspapers as facts available to Paedia Express Multimedia is linking them to the murder of human rights lawyer, Late Barrister Kunle Fadipe.
In an exclusive investigation by Paedia Express Multimedia in Lagos, Nigeria, analysts are of the opinion that except a concerted effort is made the big names involve will walk away free at the end of the day.
It was discovered exclusively that apart from a reporter that was detailed to report the event and two officials of the company ,signing of the condolence register ,officials of The Guardian Newspapers comprising of the Publisher ,Chief Operations officer , Chief Executive officer, Management Consultant ,Editor-In- Chief ,Editor, Board members  among others did not deem it vital to attend the event thus throwing a lot of questions and speculations into air.
Late Barrister Olakunle Alexander Fadipe was an Editorial Board member of The Guardian Newspapers, the highest decision making body of the company before his untimely demise on the 3rd of July,2014.
About 13 different opinions sampled over whether the issue of death should be handled with levity by the top echelon of an organization returned a guilty verdict on the feudal lords of Rutam House in Lagos.
According to an impeccable source, even though some lesser known mortals within the firm came for the burial and wake keeping  but considering that Barrister Fadipe was member of the Editorial Board ,the highest decision making organ of the company  should have been enough reason for The Guardian Newspapers to show up as the chief mourner of the event.
Another source speaks:”it shows that they do not have any form of respect for the dead ,otherwise they should have stormed his burial en mass or did they kill him”
Paedia Express Multimedia also leant that it was wrong for the late legal practitioner not to have looked for  police protection after having  a history of threats on his life previously thus fuelling speculations that something was wrong somewhere.
Once upon a time, Comrade Lawal Balogun of the Committee for Defense on Human Rights in Ifako –ijaiye had introduced this reporter to the top echelon of the human rights community as he sought to take a legal stand on The Guardian Newspapers ,The Comet Newspapers ,The Nation Newspapers  over the forgery of his intellectual rights and property by senior editors in the three  different media firms.
Barrister Kunle Fadipe was brought into the picture by CDHR  officials though he was not actually given the case to handle but was fully briefed by this reporter on the matter.
Sometimes in 2012,,the late lawyer told this reporter during a press interview session in his private residence that he was now an Editorial Board Member of The Guardian Newspapers thus igniting the believe that the latter was compensated for giving the dubious elements in the media a privileged information regarding an enemy.
In 2014,this reporter authored a series  of stinging reports and investigations in which Barrister Fadipe was been questioned publicly on why he had to accept a job from a criminally minded firm even when he knew.
Less than four months after this, Barrister Olakunle Fadipe was killed in his Lagos home by an assailant who has not revealed the identity of the contractor as at press time.
A month before this episode, a certain Assistant Superintendent of Police ,[ASP],Kassim Osama of the notorious Special Anti- Robbery Squad hit squad of the Nigerian Police lied to this reporter of having some information for him but this was discovered to be a hoax after he had collected his personal details excluding residential address.
The Policeman later filed to be this reporter’s pal on Face book but this was rejected on account of his lacking in transparency.
During the signing of the condolence register a lot of big wigs in the Nigerian society were at the Fadipe’s  Lagos residence.
Big crook and Editor-In-Chief of The Guardian Newspapers , Mr Debo Adeshina  who signed the register at number 342  extolled the virtues of the late lawyer.
His words:”Kunle was a perfect gentleman .a brilliant lawyer with a huge promise, he dug a wall of knowledge for himself and his depth was unmistakable”
“a great friend who was once forever available for his friends ,wow, what a loss, his commitment to his job or whatever he did was total “
“a life of integrity has been taken ,he will be sorely missed, adieu”
Mourners like Lady Maiden Ibru signed in at number 57,Professor Wale Omole signed in at number 59,Sylvester Odion Akhaine at number 53 while Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola in an unmistakable red pen mourned his departed colleague.
The left handed lawyer turned politician speaks:”rest in peace noble and learned colleague ,you ran a good race and painful as the end was you work and service to the community is valued and appreciated”
It took this reporter at least 30 minutes to go through the condolence register with at least 422 persons signing in as at the morning of  the day of the wake keeping in Lagos.
The casket bearing the remains of the late lawyer had arrived at his chambers opposite the Ifako –Ijaiye General Hospital to the waiting hands of a delegation of about 18 highly respected members of the Nigerian Bar   Association while lying in state en route his final journey.
Paedia Express Multimedia saw exclusively how lawyers cladded in all black wept openly at the sight of the deceased lying clod dead.
Barrister Aworopo Awoyele and Barrister Patrick Arasanmi led other lawyers as they prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed and for the family to bear the irreparable loss.
Barrister Arasanmi struck a chord when he referred to the centuries old betrayal of his friend, Julius Caesar by Brutus as the latter joined rebels to stab the former and a great Roman General to death in the Senate in ancient Rome.
He recalled that perhaps if Brutus was not involved in the killing may be the Roman General will not even have died of shock and prayed that all those involved in the killing will be apprehended and dealt with in line with the dictates of the Nigerian law.
Paedia Express Multimedia noticed deep stitches around the neck region of Barrister Olakunle Fadipe while lying in state , this thus show the extent to which the assassin went just to make sure he killed his target.
Mrs Kemi Fadipe was a pitiful sight to behold as she wept into the depth of her soul over the death of her husband of around 25 years upon seeing his corpse lying in state in front of the house at highbrow Harmony Estate.
She agonized in Yoruba language:”oroburuku leleyi”,meaning  this death is very painful.
She kept wailing and rolling on the sofa in the living room and almost hitting the ground in the process as numerous mourners tried in vain to pacify her to no avail hence she was relocated to her room albeit temporarily before the actual wake keeping service was conducted.
A source speaks:”kunle Fadipe’s mother  was not told of the demise of her son but when people kept going to greet her in droves ,.she started to suspect that something was wrong  and she was forced to ask and then the cat was let out of the bag”
“Normally Kunle   and the wife goes to his 87 years old mother  to eat lunch on the way from Church every Sunday but on this particular Sunday she did not see the couple”
“She was told a big lie, that Kunle Fadipe had an accident and was seriously injured and had been flown abroad for further treatment “
“It was when she  did not hear anything about his improvement that she knew that they were lying to her”
During the burial proper in Ile-Ife in Parakin Estate ,Osun State ,it was a tug of war separating the immediate family and the casket as the wife of the deceased ,Mrs Kemi Fadipe and children wept very bitterly at the painful separation from there father, husband and bread winner.
The casket was lowered into the grave some minutes to 2 in the afternoon local time amidst light rains or showers from heaven.
The public address system however recognized the presence of Mr Kunle Sanyaolu, Sylvester Akhaine and another official from The Guardian Newspapers towards the tail end of the event.
