Boavista Snap Up Michael Uchebo On Two - Year Deal

SL10.ng understands that Michael
Uchebo committed his future to Portuguese club Boavista on Wednesday.
The 24-year-old, who starred against
Argentina at the World Cup, has penned a deal that ties him to The Panthers, until
June 30, 2016, with the club having the option of extending his stay at
the Estádio do Bessa for an additional season.
Players' manager, Michael Nicholas,
who brokered the deal that took the lanky striker to Boavista, told SL10.ng :
Michael Uchebo signed a two-year deal with Boavista on Wednesday after passing
his medical.''
''The club reserves the right of
prolonging the contract for one more year when it expires.''
The Nigeria international arrives
Boavista as a free agent, after his last employer Cercle Brugge failed to
extend his contract at the end of the 2013-2014 season.
Apart from his spell in Belgium,
Michael Uchebo also turned out for VVV Venlo, scoring 11 goals in 66
appearances for the Dutch team in the Eredivisie.
Retired Nigeria international
Richard Owubokiri was the top marksman in the Portuguese topflight during the
1991-1992 season (with 30 goals), while defending the colours of Boavista.
