Extra judicial killings is still said to be going on inside the facilities of the Nigerian Police  Special Anti-Robbery Squad Cells in Lagos, Nigeria.
At a recent press parley at the Right House in Ikeja,Lagos,Nigeria , the leadership of the Committee For the Defence on Human Rights were united in condemning the activities of the leadership and officers of the squad.
The body noted that they have visited the agency severally and each time they go to make formal complains the leaders in charge of the agency usually pretend as they giver the impression that they want to be of service to humanity.
They accused them of going beyond there briefs as they were fond of carrying out extra judicial killings in the name of maintaining security.
They explained that there have been cases when people were robbed  and the officer in charge of the agency will not even be aware that somebody was been kept in there cell.
CDHR also lamented that there were several cases of people who were not even suppose to be in a cell in the first place but who are languishing in the prisons provided by the agency.
CDHR Speaks:”how can you be the head of SARS and somebody gets missing in your custody, there are several cases of non armed robbery that are kept in there cells and people are charged indiscriminately without a reason when they are to be bailed”
The whistle blowers then urged the agency to always as a matter of urgency and concern make sure that any alleged criminal is made to face the full weight of the law  rather than been molested for no good reasons.
The body accused the Nigerian Police of been enmeshed in deep seated corruption as they alle3ged that the latter have turned a blind eye repeatedly to matters bothering on corruption.
They pleaded that every Nigerian Police Force outpost should as a matter of national importance establish a human rights desk so that the people can reports issues on violations immediately to them at all times.
