Rising from its press conference put together to sensitize the public of the evacuation of the mortal remains of the victims of the church tragedy that led to the collapse of a section of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, The South African government has declared that they remain committed to the high level diplomatic relationship between both nations irrespective of the incident.
While responding to questions from a cross section of the local and global media that attended the meeting at the Protea Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos, ,Nigeria ,A Minister in The South African  Presidency, Mr Jeff Radebe said that there was no cause for alarm as all was well.
He assured that all the leaders of both nations have been in high level of contact since the incident and that they were happy at the level of cooperation that they had gotten since they arrived in Nigeria for the repatriation of the bodies.
Radebe speaks:”During the struggle for independence of South Africa,Nigeria stood by us  and till this day it has been like that “
“we believe that our strategic partnership will continue to move from strength to strength ,over 100 companies from both nations are involved in one form of business or the other,Dangote is our biggest investor ,hence we will continue to work together”
“I extend my sympathies to the Nigerians who  lost there loved ones in the incident, yesterday we also received the death of one of our key health personnel who has been involved in the repatriation exercised deeply back home and we also condole with his family and friends as well”
He noted that as humans and as  nation they were deeply saddened by the incident ,pointing out that it has not been easy for them to identify the mortal remains of the dead in the saga due to the gruesome nature of the incident.
He confirmed the release of about 74 bodies from Lagos which was to depart at 20:15P.M local time for South Africa on Saturday night and to arrive in South Africa by noon the following day.
He paid tributes to all the stakeholders that worked in ensuring the success of the entire operation right from the first day of the saga.
