Hours after the prime minister instructed to demolish the homes of the terrorists who carried out the attack at the synagogue in Jerusalem, the IDF and the police destroyed the home of the terrorist who carried out the attack on the light rail last month.

A month after Abd al-Rahman al-Shaloudi committed the attack at Ammunition Hill in Jerusalem, which killed a baby and a young woman, military forces, police, and border police destroyed his house.  The IDF said that the demolition was carried out "as part of the ongoing fight against terrorism and it is in accordance with the instructions of the political leadership.”

Engineering forces from the IDF, along with teams of Israeli police and border police came to the home of al-Shaloudi in the SIlwan neighborhood, and demolished the house of the young man who was killed by the police after he carried out the suicide attack at the light rail station. In the attack, the victims included a baby named Haya Zisel Brown and a young convert from Ecuador named Karen Yemima Muskra.  Five other civilians were wounded.
“The demolition of terrorists’ homes is a clear message to all those who seek to harm Israeli citizens and security forces, that there is a heavy price to pay for terrorism and harming innocent people,” stressed the IDF.

Terrorist released from prison months before the attack
"The IDF will continue to act in accordance with the political leadership, in collaboration with all the security agencies, and will not hesitate to take all available legal means to strike at terrorists and their supporters, and discourage others from carrying out additional attacks.”
Al-Rahman Al-Shaloudi was the nephew of Muchi al-Din Sharif, who was the commander of the Hamas military wing and was killed in 1998.  Muchi-Din Sharif succeeded Yahya Ayyash who was known as "The Engineer", and was head of the Izz al-Din al Qassam Brigades until being assassinated in Ramallah.  Al-Rahman Al-Shaloudi had acted against Israel in the past.
Only ten months ago al-Rahman al-Shaloudi was released from an Israeli prison, and in the last two years he was arrested twice: once in 2013, and another arrest occurred in February of this year for a shorter period, shortly after his previous release.  After the terrorist crashed into the Jerusalem light rail station, a police officer shot and wounded him. Al-Shaloudi died several hours
Yesterday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instructed security officials to destroy the homes of the terrorists responsible for the attack on the synagogue in Jerusalem's Har Nof neighborhood.  But the decision was not yet carried out. In addition, the prime minister instructed a significant increase in enforcement against inciting attacks, in addition to a series of other decisions obtained earlier in an attempt to strengthen the security of the capital.

Around the world, people called Netanyahu not to destroy the homes of the terrorists: "We are concerned about the violent events in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories, and we condemn all acts of violence," said a spokesman for the High Commissioner of the Human Rights Organization of the UN. "Israel's obligation is to ensure the observance of law and order including bringing those responsible for attacks against civilians to justice.”
"Israel's response should be done in accordance with international law," continued the speaker on behalf of the human rights organization. "We call on Israel to avoid punitive measures such as destruction - it is a violation of international law and adds escalation to the situation.”
