……………………….Will Nwofor emerge from the ashes of obscurity to help Nigeria?
Tall, leggy Nigerian International Football star,Uche Nwofor who plies his trade this days with Dutch side,Heerenven in the Eredivisie  may yet defy his faith and post a sterling performance at the World Cup in Brazil.
In the season just ended in Holland, the Nigerian only played a paltry three times for his club all season and  despite been ready to play was not given match time by his coaches since November,2013.
When he got picked against all possible permutations ,not a lot of people wondered why he got picked but against the Tartan Army of Scotland in the recent world cup friend lies at Craven Cottage in London ,United Kingdom he proved skeptics wrong.
He came into the game as a cameo as Nigeria chased the game deep into the dying seconds in the last quarter and on his fourth touches on the round leather object he sent his fellow country men to land of ecstasy as he stabbed home into a yawning net from a very tight angle.
In the minutes he spent on the pitch ,he made usage of space, and positioning thus underlying his importance in the team that will line up in Brazil despite his relatively young age.
The last time he played for the team he scored twice   from just three touches on the ball against the bafana bafana of South Africa in the 2013 Nelson Mandela Challenge Cup.
His ability to hold on to the ball while allowing his team mates to take positions on the field of play is a delight to watch,it is obvious that the young man is waiting to explode in Brazil.
A source said:”His coaches are not using him in Holland but he looks like a fantastic player,I think he is a victim of racism’

Nestlé Nutrition Institute Africa training addresses importance of nutrition during the first 1,000 days

Nestlé Nutrition Institute Africa (NNIA) is recently held  its third Advanced Nutrition Programme (CANUP), a training course on maternal and paediatric nutrition for healthcare professionals in Anglophone Central and West Africa.

The training, which took place between 18 and 21 May in Ibadan, Nigeria, focused on the importance of the first 1,000 days of life, from conception to the child’s second birthday. Getting the right nutrition during these critical first 1,000 days is crucial for healthy growth and development in terms of immunity and cognitive function.
