Chief Kente Marks His 50th Anniversary With Visits To The Needy.
CHIEF DAVID SABO KENTE LOOKS FORWARD TO BETTER DAYS AHEAD AS THE ELECTIONS DRAWS NEAR

As part of activities to mark his 50th Birth Day celebration, governorship candidate of SDP in Taraba State, Chief David Sabo Kente last Tuesday, paid special visits to the Jalingo Main Prison, Alheri and Dabale Orphanage Homes all in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital.
According to the Chief Press Secretary to Chief Kente, Mr. Henry Ibya, the governorship hopeful Chief Kente who was represented by the State Coordinator of DSK Foundation, Mr. Tijani Sale, presented relief materials among which includes cartons of Magi Cubes, assorted detergents, tooth paste and brushes, domestic slippers, cartons of pomades, cartons of toilet papers and bathing soaps among others to the inmates at the Jalingo Main Prison.
Presenting the items at the Jalingo Prison, the SDP governorship hopeful, Chief Kente expressed deep concerns for the inhuman condition of the inmates and encouraged them to have hope, maintaining that the lessons they would have learnt while in the prison would help them to become good ambassadors of the state and the country when they regain freedom.
He noted that if only people could conduct themselves within the tenets of the law as law-abiding citizens there would be no need to have prisons but further observed that certain conducts demands conferment for possible rehabilitation, therefore government would do everything possible to upgrade facilities in all the prisons of the state if he is elected as the next governor of the state in the forthcoming governorship elections.
In his response, the Deputy Comptroller in-charge of Jalingo Prison, Mr. James John Ali, commended the governorship hopeful, Chief David Sabo Kente for always identifying with the less privileged including prisoners in the society.
He assured that the Prison community together with the inmates would commit his governorship intentions into the hands of God with the believe that Jalingo Prison would not only be decongested but would also receive the needed face-lift.
Mr. James John Ali while thanking the philanthropist for identifying with the prison community, appealed that he should intervene in the following areas; rehabilitate the Prison structures, repair the only functional vehicle, purchase of drugs and payment of court fines for some of the inmates, adding that some of them have been discharged but have nobody to pay for their fines and as well help in equipping the Prison’s workshops.
Speaking on behalf of the inmates, Sarkin Azetu Jalingo Prison, Mallam Belo Bako who is the Leader of Muslim inmates and Martins Igbabaka an elder, all expressed their gratitude to Chief Kente for his kind disposition and appealed that he should not  be tired in assisting the inmates and the prison community, stressing that they acknowledged his earlier contribution in settling court fines of some inmates in the past but further appealed for more of his philanthropic gestures as some of the prisoners have spent over 20 years because of lack of access to money to settle their court fines.
The spokespersons of the inmates also called on the governorship hopeful to kindly assist in the repairs of the only toilet facilities in the prison and provide water for proper maintenance of the conveniences.
They also prayed God to grant Chief David Sabo Kente many more fruitful years on earth in his service to humanity and as well bring to fruition his heart desires particularly in the quest to govern Taraba State in the next political dispensation.
Chief Kente, who also later presented assorted food materials and other items to the Alheri and Dabale Orphanage Homes, assured the orphans that the DSK Foundation would continue to do its best in bringing succor to orphans particularly in Taraba State and Nigeria in general.
Responding on behalf of the Orphanage Homes, Magdiel Michael, headmaster, Dabale Orphanage Home and Mrs. Gimbia Umar Agwaru for the Alheri Orphanage Home, commended Chief David Sabo Kente for remembering to celebrate his birthday with the children and prayed God to grant him more of His favours especially in his governorship ambition.
