THE EXIT OF OCTOGENARIAN, EZEONARA
PATRIARCH AT 87
Late Nze Bernard Nwachukwu Ezeonara
goes in to a place great beyond divide, on Monday, December 1st, 2014,
after a brief illness that lasted two weeks.
Born 1927,
aged 87years old. He is a red cap Chief of Ozor in Igboland. He is popularly
known with “OZOR NKECHIFOTELE”. Late patriarch of Ezeonara family began his
elementary school like other of his teenage peers around Ekwulobia Community in
the 1930`s. And got to the level of standard four (4), back then. His late
father Mathias Ezenaekezie Anaenuonwu Ezeonara, sent him to learn ornament
trade, as well as food stuffs in the hand of his senior cousin, nephew one Mr.
Jacob Ezenwa at Katako Market, Jos Plateau State. His cousin, nephew Chief
Jacob Ezenwa from the same Okpo village, Ekwulobia also of blessed memories
now, taught late Nwachukwu Ezeonara the business diligently well. As he became
successful in that trades.
He got
married 1963 to his beautiful wife Mrs. Benedict Nwaogbo Ezeonara, “Singa
Nwanyi”, from Umuchiana village, Ekwulobia. As their wedding consummated in
Saint Theresa`s Catholic Church Jos, Plateau State in the same year 1963.
Their
marriage was blessed with eight children, six male and two female.
Unfortunately, he witnessed the deaths of his two sons in different years as
the cold hands of death snatched them away in brief illnesses too. All he had
witness in his eighty seven (87) years of sojourn in the mother earth.
Late Nkechifotele was a
man of many parts, a disciplinarian who never believe in money bag but
character. So principled and humble. When civil war eroded all his labored
fortunes in Jos, Plateau State during the Biafra-Nigeria war that lasted thirty
(30) months. He later went back to Jos to eke out a living.
He became a
bus loader at Katako Motor Park, and subsequently full time transporter. There
and then he became popularly known as “Alhaji obinwanne” because of his
mannerism, to and by every member of Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba communities. Late
Nze Nwachukwu Ezeonara spoke English, Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba languages
fluently.
He is survived by his wife
good and wonderful children, grand children and great grand children. Amongst are
his biological sons and daughters, Mr. Angus Osita Ezeonara, “Ozor Nnanyeleugo”
oldest son, business man based in Yola Adamawa State. Mrs. Rita Ngozichukwuka
Ezenwobodo, astute business woman, Mr. Paul Anayochukwu Ezeonara professional driver,
Lady Assumpta Ogadimma Ezeonara a staff of Bishop`s court Aguata diocese
Anglican Communion Ekwulobia, Mr.Boniface Chinasaokwu Ezeonara of civil service
Anambra Ministry of finance, Mr.Akaraka Chinweike Ezeonara business person, philosopher and rights
activist, member of several human rights organizations.
Late patriarch Nze Bernard
Nwachukwu Ezeonara had long since 1986 truncated all his businesses in Jos and
based Ekwulobia in his local farming after his father`s demise on November
11,1985. Being his oldest son to look after his Obi. Alhaji Obinwanne`s funeral ceremony will hold
as follows: A Christian wake-keep on Wednesday 14th April, 2015
starting 8pm till dawn. While service of songs will be on Thursday 15th
April, 2015, by 9am prompt. Funeral ceremony and other activities followed
right there in OBI EZEONARA family compound. He has been interred in the Obi
Ezeonara family compound, in Okpo Village, Ekwulobia, Aguata local government
area of Anambra state. He is buried according to his instruction in his life
time if dead; nobody should deposit him to the morgue. The Ezeonaras oblige his
traditional decency as he died Monday, December 1st between 4:30pm
buried Tuesday 2nd December before 12:30pm.
