FRESH INSIGHT ON LATE CHIEF WILLIAMS KILLING CONFIRMS
PAEDIA EXPRESS
MULTIMEDIA’S EXCLUSIVE EDITORIAL REPORTAGE ON THE GODFATHER
BY ABDULMUMINI ADEKU.
Fresh facts are beginning to emerge on the immediate reasons
why the Senior Pastor of the Latter Rain Assembly Church in Lagos, Nigeria, Pastor
Tunde Bakare decided not to continue in
his romance with Nigerian politicians again.
In an exclusive investigations by Paedia Express Multimedia
in Lagos, Nigeria ,it was discovered that top officials of the All Progressive
Congress[A.P.C] actually made efforts to woo the high street clergy to its rank
some times this year but met a brick wall.
An impeccable source who doubles as a member of the Church
located at Akilo Road in Ikeja,Lagos
said that they were in church for a worship session and in between his sermon
the servant of God told the congregation why he decided not to join the All
Progressive Congress after all.
The source revealed to this reporter that the man of God was
called up for a meeting at one of the posh five star hotel in town and made to
declare for the APC but he was said to have told them that he will only join if
they tell him who killed Late Chief Funsho Williams, The front line governorship
Candidate in the Peoples Democratic Party in the run up to the 2007 general
elections .
The source speaks:”He told them that if they can tell him everything
surrounding the senseless butchering of Chief Funsho Williams and he is satisfied
with there explanations then he will join them in there political pursuits”
“so he gave them at least 30 minutes to speak up but after
30 minutes nobody said anything and at this he simply got up dusted his Holy
Bible and left the event with his personal aides and up till now it has been
like that”
This is a direct confirmation of a block buster editorial exclusive
which Paedia Express Multimedia published earlier on in the year titled: Did Tinubu
kill Chief Funsho Williams ?
Funsho Williams (May 9, 1948 – July 27, 2006) was a Nigerian civil servant
and politician.
Born Anthony Olufunsho Williams
in Lagos, he attended the St. Paul's Catholic school
at Ebute Metta and later St Gregory's
College, Lagos. In 1968 he started at the University of Lagos,
attaining a degree in civil engineering.
He then went on to attend the New Jersey
Institute of Technology for his Master's degree.[1]
In 1974 Williams returned to Nigeria
and joined the Lagos State civil
service. He spent the next 17 years working on construction projects in Lagos
State. Approximately 70% of the roads and bridges were built under his
stewardship. Williams was a Permanent Secretary by the time he left the civil
service in 1991.
He went into business for himself,
but he shortly returned to public service, as a Lagos state Commissioner under Colonel Olagunsoye Oyinlola's
Military Administratorship.
In the mid 1990s, Williams decided
to enter into politics for himself. In order that he could formulate policy,
rather than just carry it out. He first joined the United Nigeria
Congress Party (UNCP), but after the suspicious death of its leader
General Sani Abacha he moved to the Alliance for
Democracy (AD).
After a short time Williams again
switched parties, this time to the People's
Democratic Party (PDP).They had won the 2003 elections under the
leadership of President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Williams had stood twice before in
the Lagos State Governorship
(Gubernatorial) election. At
the time of his death he was hoping to be nominated as the PDP Gubernatorial
candidate for Lagos State. He had vowed to wrest control of the wealthy state
from the Alliance for Democracy Party.
Williams held directorships in
several companies:
- Julius Berger Nigeria Plc
- Cappa and D'Alberto Plc
- Ajaokuta Steel Company
- Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Maritime Authority
On July 27, 2006 Williams' body was
found at his home. He had been tied up, stabbed and strangled. On July 28,
2006, two people were arrested in connection with his death. One was his
campaign manager, and the other was a Senator and former Works Minister Kingsley Adeseye
Ogunlewe. Ogunlewe was also hoping to be the PDP Gubernatorial
candidate.[2]. Williams is survived by his wife, Hilda, and
four children.
