For Senator Musiliu Obanikoro ,the immediate Minister for state in the Ministry of Defense in Nigeria is back to the trenches as he attempts to re strategies  and still re coup something out of his fading governorship hopes.
While going home on his way from his campaign office at around two in the morning of 9th December ,he looked Paedia Express Multimedia in the eye and told him straight away that he will not accept the results of the primaries as announced by Senator Saidu Kumo, chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party panel on governorship elections in Lagos for 2015.
At this ,he went into his jeep in the company of a retinue of personal aides and political admirers and drove off with two of his children: Ibrahim and Gbolahan following daddy closely all the time.
Earlier on in the day, this reporter got inside Yard I58 Venue of the primaries at around three o clock local time amidst a very tight regime of security as bomb sniffing and unfriendly looking Alsatian dogs were seen looking to pounce on any one that misbehaves.
An estimated 50 to 80 well armed anti-riot policemen led by Deputy Commissioner of Police I.B.Kokumo were in charge of the highly charged atmosphere as the  political camps of Chief Olabode George and the youthful looking and vibrant Senator Musiliu Obanikoro were ready to have a go at  each other.
Infact minutes before this reporter got to the place the police had to tear gas the crowd as a result of violence with a woman losing consciousness as she was without her inhaler been an asthmatic patient.
The unidentified woman needed the kiss of life and urgent first aid to get to her feet based on the accounts given to this reporter.
At around three thirty ,Paedia Express Multimedi after some frantic phone calls was reliably informed that at least 65 to 70 percent of the key loyalists of Senator Obanikor gunning for elective positions in the party had won this leading to permutations that the highly respected politician from Lagos island may carry the day against the equally brilliant Technocrat,Mr Jimmy Agbaje.
Chief Olabode George while speaking exclusively to Paedia Express Multimedia said that the state of Lagos had been in darkness for so long and it was now time for the party to select a good candidate who will do battle with the rest in 2015 elections.
He explained that it was critical for the party to get it right at the polls by getting the right man so that they can win in  2015 elections.
He denied in very strong terms that he was loosening the screws  for Mr Jimmy Agbaje.
Former Deputy Governor of Lagos state ,Chief Mrs Kofoworola Bucknor Akerele told Paedia Express Multimedia that she was happy that despite the initial air of tension at the event the security in place was able to check the situation.
In a statement made to a  cross section of the Nigerian media at the event, Senator Obanikoro said that it was too early for anybody to say that he has won the elections as only God gives victory but that he will do all that was required by law to win.
He urged his supporters to remain calm in the face of what he believed was the air of intimidation at the venue.
Mr Deji Doherty affirmed his resilience when he told this reporter that no matter the outcome he will continue to work for progress within the rank and file of the party.
Mr Agbaje told Paedia Express Multimedia exclusively that if he was been touted as a front runner in the primaries then it was not out of place if he goes ahead to actually win the race.
He noted that those who claimed that he arrived very late into the party were only been mischievous and economical with the truth as they do not have all the facts.
His words:”if somebody says to you that you are born by your mother ,then it behooves on  you to run back to your mother to ask her whether it is true or not,so they should check there facts”
Dr Mrs Modupe Felicia Chuckwunenke ,an aspirant later withdrew from the race as she pledged that she will be willing to work with any of the aspirants that emerged at the polls.
She lamented the bad treatment meted out to non-natives  by the Governor Raji Fashola administration and called on her rivals to try to correct this anomaly if any one of them eventually comes to office in 2015.
While the voting was going on, Chief Babatunde Gbadamosi and Mr Deji Doherty were seen in full public glare complain bitterly about the conduct of the elections but Senator Kumo did not appear to be disturbed.
This reporter later gathered exclusively through Ifako Ijaiye delegates that they were going to be paid $1,500 each for voting just like there other colleagues across the state by Mr Jimmy agbaje
It was also gathered that Senator Musiliu Obanikoro forked out a sum of $1,000 each to each of the delegates in the state  aside from sums ranging from $48,000,$45,000,$40,000,$35,000,$30,000,$30,000 each given to the coordinators of all the local government depending on the population that they commanded.
Mr Deji Doherty is believed to have spent a sum of N30,000 each for each of the delegates ,though the other aspirants also spent money but this reporter did not have full details of this as at press time.
However it was noteworthy to point out that most of this cash transactions took place in the cosy confines of hotel rooms and not in full public glare as politicians have perfected a clever way to evade the press and security agencies.
Obanikor’s supporters blamed Chief Bode George for been the reason behind the party’s woes in the state, they claimed that he collected a sum of N4Billion from Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2007 to frustrate their principal.
They also alleged that Mr Jimmy Agbaje was a Tinubu implant in the  party through Chief Bode George so as to nip the possible victory of the PDP in the bud.
In the end,Mr Jimmy Agbaje ,a pharmacist and business tycoon polled a vote of 432 as against Senator Obanikoro’s 343 votes with remaining aspirants having a paltry 88 votes when combined.
Senior PDP big wigs like Chief Olabode George,Mr Deji Doherty,Mr Jimmy Agbaje,Chief Mrs Kofoworola Bucknor Akerele,Senator Saidu Kumo,Ambassador Tokunbo Kamson,Businessman Babatunde Gbadamosi were all at the event venue.
