KWANKWASSIYA NOW A SYMBOL OF POLITICS IN NIGERIA

KWANKWASSIYA NOW A SYMBOL OF POLITICS IN NIGERIA
BY ABDULMUMINI ADEKU.

DRESSED IN HIS CHARACTERISTIC RED CAP,KWANKWASSIYA IS NOW A BRAND OF POLITICS IN NORTHERN NIGERIA SPREADING AROUND LIKE A HARMATTAN HAZE
Dressed in a red cap and a white traditional flowing gown called  apparel Agbada in Nigerian parlance with embroidery to match ,Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankkwaso ,Governor of kano state has really proven for the umpteenth time that Kano is not a push over in Nigerian politics.
He has a lot of antecedents to draw up from ,it was in Kano City the likes of late Mallam Aminu Kano,Late Alhaji Abubakar Rimi,Alhaji Maitama Sule,Dan Masanin Kano,Alhaji Sule Lamido,Governor of Jigawa State,Late General Muritala Ramat Mohammed, Late General Sani Abacha and Alhaji Ibrahim Shekarau bestrode the nation at various times in history with there brand of politics.
Like his rival, General Muhammadu Buhari who eventually got the nod at the All Progressives Congress, Dr Kwankwanso believes that one of the only way Nigeria can forward is to tackle the issue of corruption very seriously and this he has not shied away from as eh has confronted it headlong since coming to office.
He took out a huge chunk of the time he was to use to address the gathering at the All Progressives Congress [A.P.C.] Presidential Primaries and convention to reel out the audience all the laudable projects his administration had embarked upon in the last four years of his regime.
Sources at the convention grounds at Teslim Balogun Stadium ,Lagos,Nigeria around Three in the afternoon local time suggested that the Kano Born politician had steeped down and were even sending text messages to buttress that fact but since there was no official statement to that effect it later turned out to be a hoax.
