General Muhammadu Buhari has been officially confirmed as the Presidential Standard Bearer of the All Progressives Congress .
In a very open race he contested and crushed a strong field comprising Former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state, Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwanso of Kano state , business and media magnate, Mr Sam Nda-Isaiah, Founder of the Leadership Group of Newspapers ,Abuja, Nigeria.
General Buhari, polled a total vote of about 3,430 with Governor Rabiu Kwankwanso coming second with 974 votes, Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar came third with a vote of about 954.
Governor Rochas Okorocha came fourth with  624 votes with Nda Isaiah who held the touch for the Nigerian media industry came up at  the rear with  a paltry 10 votes.
It will appear that Alhaji Atiku abubakar’s decision to jettison the opposition to go back to his vomit in the Peoples Democratic Party after the failed Third term project of Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has not been forgotten by the opposition as they gave him the cold shudder.
In the run up to the elections at the imposing Teslim Balogun Stadium, the sobriquet of Sai Baba rented the air as soon as the crowd caught a glimpse of General Muhammadu Buhari  with a deafening ovation thus indicating who was going to carry the day.
Governor Rochas Okorocha and his colleague from Kano, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso also seems to have done well in the final analysis as they used their incumbency to good effects ,they got block votes in their immediate catchment area of Imo State and Kano State thus reducing the influence of the sagacious Atiku Abubakar.
A Source told this reporter that delegates were paid by the governors just to make sure that there was no last minute betrayals as they had long made up their minds to vote for General Buhari .
He affirmed that the Daura born General will trounce President Goodluck Jonathan a t the 2015 polls as it was even now too late for the Tinubu political machine in the South West axis to betray the General like the issue was in 2011.
Yet another source told this reporter that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar made the greatest mistake of his entire political career when he left the opposition after losing to Yar’A Dua in 2007.
He maintained that as Former Vice President he had gained a lot of goodwill and respect from the Nigerian and global public for the way he fought his boss to frustrate the third term agenda and his challenge of the Yar’Adua election at the courts and all that he needed to do will have been to exercise patience and by now things will have worked his way.
He accused the strategists of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of not telling him the truth as he can recall that the like of Chief Audu Ogbe whom he left the party with at the time to join the Action Congress of Nigeria  never returned back to the Peoples Democratic Party[P.D.P.]
He even insisted that the duo of Buhari and Atiku abubakar if they have been in opposition by 2011 would have made the coalition to work as there was no way Dr Goodluck Jonathan will have won.
At  the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos,Nigeria , where the elections took place Bureau De Change operators were seen openly hawking dollars as people exchanged naira for hard currencies as vote buying took place among brokers and the delegates.
Paedia Express Multimedia also gathered through impeccable sources of how a local government chairman from Niger state was duped of several thousands of dollars by stuntmen believed to be in charge of security at the stadium.
The Atiku Abubakar camp is alleged to have promised each of the delegates at least $5,000 if they can queue behind their man while the 12 Governors who endorsed General Buhari are believed to have  matched that to frustrate the Adamawa born strong man who had started politicking when some of them were still learning to stand on there feet.
So serious  about his Presidential dreams was Former Vice President Abubakar that he is said to have booked up all the major five star hotel in Lagos for the delegates.
Checks also showed that in his campaigns, lobby and consultations nationwide he donated huge sums of money ranging between N10 to N15 million to the state chapters as he  tried to warm his way into the mainstream of the All Progressive Congress[A.P.C]
A sum of around N400 million is said to have  been withdrawn by the Tinubu camp just before the convention as they marshaled the likes of Senator Bukola Saraki,Governor Ibikunle Amosun ,Governor Rotimi Amaechi as war Generals to haunt for votes.
This reporter learnt through a delegate from the South South geo-political zone sometimes around four o’clock about how some Abubakar’s men wanted to give them N200,000 but as soon as Rotimi Amaechi who was a proxy for General Buhari’s camp heard he asked them not to take it as he will give the delegates N300,000.
The Atiku Abubakar’s camp is said to have suddenly become desperate later on when the kitchen became very hot and they promised and were willing to give as much $5,000 flat rate to anybody among the delegates who was willing to play ball.
Alhaji Atiku Abubakar  is believed to be the single most vital financier of the A.P.C.
In his speech just before voting started General Muhammadu Buhari told the highly charged atmosphere  that he was ready to offer his service to free Nigeria from the shackles of poverty but had no money to give as he was not a rich man in terms of material resources.
He told the gathering that he was an army pensioner who had no private business of his own apart from his drive to serve humanity.
He urged Nigerians in their thousands to go and prepare to vote for him in 2015 General elections as this was not time for continuity as President Goodluck Jonathan was a failure who does not deserve a second term in office.
He sat down to a rapturous ovation as shouts of sai Baba,Sai Buhari rented the air in the edifice situated in the heart of the cosmopolitan city of Lagos.
As at press time, this reporter was showed a hilarious picture of President Goodluck Jonathan been treated at a clinic in Abuja currently trending in the social media as he was said to have been down of a sudden high blood pressure due to Buhari’s sudden win in the A.P.C.
Former Governor of Kaduna state and leader of Conference for Nigeria Political Parties, AlhajiBalarebe Musa has said that even though people have very high regard for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, MuhammaduBuhari, that the situation in the country today is more than him to handle.
Alhaji Musa was reacting to the emergence of Buhari as the APC presidential candidate for the 2015 election at the party’s national delegates’ convention which ended yesterday in Lagos. He told the press  in a telephone interview that Buhari cannot handle the situation in the country today because it is more than him to handle.
He said that the only difference between President Goodluck Jonathan and Buhari is that while Jonathan has the support of the ruling elite, Buhari has the support of the Nigerian masses. He wondered how Buhari would be able to deal with the corruption industry and unemployment in
Nigeria if he is eventually elected president in 2015.
According to the former governor, the people leading the APC are only ambitious of making themselves rich as those in PDP. He asked “how can Buhari control them if he wins? Will he expect the PDP to give him peace? They control the economy, so there is no positive change between Jonathan and Buhari. They are reactionary forces”, Musa insists.
Continuing he said “it is quite clear you can’t expect from APC what you can’t expect from PDP. In fact, Jonathan has clearly failed and the opportunity for him to succeed was there. He is a risk to Nigeria.
It would be naïve to expect Buhari to make any correction now because the Nigeria situation has overtaken him, he adds.
