For Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu ,the All Progressive Congress Governorship Primaries in which his anointed candidate got the ticket ahead of eleven others was more than just a mere contest.

It was a contest in which he had to finally put his estranged godson, Barrister Babatunde Raji Fashola  in his rightful place by teaching him a political lesson and that is the fact that every shoe has its size and he was not called a godfather for nothing.

For many a political watcher, yesterdays primaries in the party was won and lost over four years ago when Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu had succeeded in planting some of his key loyalists in strategic positions at all level of governance right from the Federal level to the state and then to the local level and the grass roots.

The journey of Mr Akinwunmi Ambode to the throne room of the All Progressive Congress is believed to have started while Chief Tinubu was still in office,he is said to always cover up the latter’s misdemeanors so much so that when the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission came calling in the twilight of the Tinubu’s self serving regime  Ambode despite spending three months in detention refused to squeal on his light fingered boss.

When Barrister Babatunde Raji Fashola ascended the throne of office as Governor ,insiders claim he  detected a lot of discrepancy in the state accounts and while questioning his subordinate who was then the Auditor General in the presence of five other members of his kitchen cabinet in his office in Alausa,an obviously angry Akinwunmi Ambode engaged him in a physical  brawl after Fashola had called him a thief in full public glare.

It took the intervention of the five men at the meeting to separate the two in  what was almost a free for all as Governor Fashola accused him of stealing Lagos money.

When Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was informed of this incident he is said to have scolded Ambode and warned him on the need to respect his superiors as such a thing will not be accepted by any one ,he then advised him to go and resign almost immediately as if he was dismissed from service then he will not be able to pursue a political career in the future.

The elections has come and gone ,but Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is believed to have asserted his leadership when two days to the primaries he is believed to have  forked out as much as N26million to be shared among all the delegates  all in an effort at making sure that his anointed candidate,Mr Akinwunmi Ambode carries the day.

An impeccable source told Paedia Express Multimedia that most of the delegates were lodged at a hotel and amidst dining, wining and money exchanging hands they were sure that Ambode will win.

The source insisted that they had all the list of the delegates with them and they were in direct contact with them and wondered why all the other aspirants were flying a kite in the press when they did not have what it takes to win an election.

The source added that it was from the hotel that the delegates were lodged that they will proceed to go to vote at the Onikan Stadium .

In a related issue, another  source said that if Governor Fashola wishes to remain relevant then he will have to align with Federal might in the opposition to break Tinubu’s bones.

The source also confirmed all the disagreement Ambode and Governor Fashola had in the past.

He disclosed exclusively that there was even a case of a missing N10 Billion of Lagos money which has strained the relationship between both men further than expected.
