INSIDE THE WORLD CLASS STUDIOS OF TELEVISION CONTINENTAL
SALARIES:NO SHOW AT TELEVISION
CONTINENTAL,THISDAY AFTER FIVE MONTHS,SEVEN MONTHS
The management of Continental
Broadcasting services Limited, owners of the brand ,Television Continental and
Radio Continental have not paid their workers their monthly salaries in the
last five months.
In an exclusive investigations at an
even recently,The News Office desk of Paedia Express Multimedia reliably gathered
through red hot sources that the workers of both outfit were been owed at least
five months pay.
The source who is a good friend of
this reporter said that the pay crisis has heaped a lot of burden on him and
members of his family of late .
He assured that the de fact owner, Ashiwaju
Bola Ahmed Tinubu has helped to finance the growth of the firm in the last 10
to 12 years and as such had really done his best in terms of welfare if the
truth had to be told.
He put the blame and problems of the outfit squarely on the
marketing department as he wondered why
those in that section felt people like him who were supposed to be in the field
of journalism to look for content for programming should now start to hunt for
quality media space and advertising.
In his opinion which was also shared by Paedia Express
Multimedia, the duo of Your View and The Big Issue programs could actually pay
the salaries of the groups workers aside
from possible payment of dividends to workers at the end of the year if the
marketing arm took their jobs seriously.
He added that despite having the
best studios ,manpower and equipment s in Nigerian Broadcast media industry ,the
company has nothing to show for it because everybody felt that Ashiwaju Bola
Ahmed Tinubu was a father Christmas and
a magician who has access to unlimited government
funding and patronage .
In a related issue, it was reliably gathered
through a source that the management of Leaders and Company, Owners of the brand ,Thisday
Newspapers were also owning workers at least seven moths salaries, with the
insider saying that the latest pay problems faced by the firms workers was due
to the decision by the publisher to expand its United Kingdom operations .
Arise Television which is operating
from London, United Kingdom is believed to be an
entity financed from the proceeds of Thisday Newspapers in Nigeria.
