The city of Lagos,Nigeria will be agog in the next few weeks as the 30^th year edition of The Lagos International Trade Fair is hitting   its elements soon.
Officials of body In a recent world Press Conference held in Lagos,Nigeria said the event will go on as planned without hitches irrespective of the pains of the recession the nation was going through at the moment.
In his speech to the Nigerian Press,The Chairman,Trade Promotion Board of the Lagos Chambers Of Commerce and International ,Mr Shola Oyetayo said he was elated that the cumulative effects of the exhibition over the years has helped in no small measure at raising the level of trade and investments in the country.
He thanked the press for its supportive roles in their activities, a case in point was the wide coverage they got during the launch of the agency’s  prospectus only in May,2016.
He prayed that it as their hope and desire that the nations President,Muhammadu Buhari will be on hand to declare open this year’s event with fan fare soon.
He assured that this year’s theme” Positioning the Nigerian Economy for Diversification and Sustainable Growth “ was very timely as it was a reflection of the pressing needs and attention of the current administration.
He chided the nations past leaders for not doing enough in the area of diversifying the economy thus leading to the point where the nation has found itself presently
Oyetayo laments:it is worthwhile to note that oil price shock,volatility in foreign exchange ,burst of rent seekers phenomenon in the oil sector,fiscal irascibility, sloganeering diversified economy,neglect of manufacturing sector ,energy sector crisis,growing unemployment rate,lull in capital market,lack of adequate planning,inertia in decision making process just to mention a few but a few resulted  in the present economic recession”
The general features of the fair of the 2016 fair will hold at the Tafawa Balewa Square in Onikan area of Lagos,Nigeria .
