EDITORIAL :SALLAH:UNFAIR TREATMENT
OF MUSLIMS
IN IFAKO IJAIYE
THE EID EIL KABIR FESTIVITIES IS A GLOBAL PHENOMENA
The recent Eid-iel-Kabir festivities
has come and gone but for muslims in the Ifako Ijaiye area of Lagos,Nigeria the
pains they suffered will linger on for
some time.
It was observed that muslim faithfuls were all jam packed into
a small space in make shift prayer ground as against a greater space at the
Ifako Ijaiye stadium which they were using previously.
The make shift space did not even
belong to the faithful but part of the township road which had to be closed
down albeit temporarily to make a way for the faithful to worship.
Enquiries made showed that it was the
local government authorities that did
not grant the usage of the space in the stadium.
Considering that congregational
prayers of this nature is only done twice in a year,Paedia Express thinks the
Muslim Ummah should have being allowed to use the stadium now and even into the
future.
This is vital as if there was enough
space for the faithful while observing the vital prayers they can easily run to
safety should in case of any form of emergency.
