ELIE DUCOMUMUN,FIRST FIELD REPORTER TO WIN THE NOBEL PEACE
PRIZE

Contrary to previously held opinion,A Swiss Journalist and
pacifist ,The Late Mr Ellie Ducommun actually shared the 1902 Nobel Peace Prize
with Charles Albert Cobat.
Checks by The News office Desk of the E.N.M.Paedia Express
Multimedia Group of Lagos,Nigeria through Encyclopaedia Americana ,page 451
showed that Ducommun was born in Geneva ,Switzerland on February,19th,1833.
It was gathered that the reporter had served as
Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper:Revue De Geneve before moving on to Berne where
he had edited Der Fortschritt..
Widely known during his lifetime for liberal ideas and for
his activities on behalf of peace ,he
had taken part in the first of a series of peace conference in 1889 before he
was commissioned by the Congress of Rome in 1891 to organize the international Bureau of Peace at Berne.
He became Honorary secretary of The Permanent Bureau as he won the Nobel Prize for his works in
creating the organization..
Ducommum died in Berne in December,7th,1906 and his works
for peace includes the following:
