SPECIAL EDITORIAL :GREY AREAS IN BUHARI-TRUMP TALKS REVISITED

SPECIAL EDITORIAL :GREY AREAS  IN BUHARI-TRUMP TALKS REVISITEDImage result for tucano aircraft
1]Why was full payments made by the Federal Government to the United States Government on fighter aircrafts that will be delivered in 2020?
2]The payment process for the $496million has being shrouded in inconsistency, why so?
3]January 25th,2018:Defence Minister Mannir Dan Ali said that the payment deadline for the purchase of the aircraft  was February,2018 but we are past that period now,why so?
4]Mannir Dan Ali had stated very clearly that the government had rejected the purchase terms because it was in favor of the United States, why was there a u-turn on this without the National Assembly being aware?
5]The Minister did not tell Nigerians whether there had being a better deal for Nigeria but suddenly announced that the F.G.N had paid $496Million to the U.S. GOVERNMENT for the Tucano jets ,Why so ?
6]Why were the National Assembly kept in the dark about  the cash in respect to this transactions being withdrawn from the excess crude account?
OBSERVATIONS: It would appear that the aircrafts were booked for as it will only be ready by 2020 ,though the government  did not state this clearly.
Unlike automobiles, ships and aircrafts are usually not mass produced by manufacturers hence the time frame for the delivery.
CONCLUSION:
In the interest of transparency and corporate governance which does not seems to have being used in the disputed transaction ,The Editorial and Policy Board of the E.N.M.Paedia Express Multimedia Group of Lagos,Nigeria will advice the Muhammadu Buhari led regime to make the contract papers of the purchase of the Tucano Jets available to both chambers of the National Assembly the local and global press  except of course if it wants this medium to believe the words of political opponents that it actually has something to hide on the contentious transactions.
Buhari and his men should learn to be more open and consistent in business dealings so as not to go in direct friction with the opposition unnecessarily.
