Road accident occurrences have actually taken a significant reduction in 2014 as against 2013 because the Federal Road Safety Corps (F.R.S.C) has been proactive enough.
This statement was made known by Commander Bisi Shonubi, a public educator at the FRSC office, Isheri, Lagos State, While granting an exclusive interview with Paedia Express Multimedia in Lagos,Nigeria
Speaking on behalf of the sector commander, “FRSC has been proactive enough in the sense that, we didn’t wait until ember months before most of our campaign activities were dished out”, she said.
“we have series of campaigns on road traffic rules and regulations running from January and we are repeating same this year, she also disclosed, making it known that the total number of accidents recorded in2013 was 367 while in 2014, statistics says was 323 which all happens to be the reported cases.
She further buttressed the fact that private car users violate traffic laws and regulations;  indulge in dangerous driving activities compared to the commercial drivers.
She speaks“Most learned private car users use their phones while driving, they  even carry children on  their laps while driving ,can you imagine somebody carrying a p 12 years old which is against traffic rules and you can’t see this in commercial vehicles”.
, “The thing with commercial drivers is that they carry more passengers”.
According to her, safety campaign activities has been intensified in order to make  road accident precautionary  measures reach the general public and ensure safety of lives.
The National Assembly has also given the mandate that road safety should be part of the curriculum in schools where children are taught the same.
