ROAD ACCIDENT AT OREMETA

A road accident recently  occurred at  Oremeta street , which is one of the major streets in Ojodu, a sub-urb of Ikeja, in Lagos. The street which has a major road linking the Ojodu bus stop and T-junction at both ends got residents really amazed about how such an accident could still occur on the well tarred smooth road, even with bumpers constructed to reduce speed of reckless and careless driving.

The accident was confirmed to have happened between the hours of 7:00pm to 7:15 recently , leaving a motor bike and commercial bus on head-on  collision on the same road.

An eye witness account  noted  that the okada rider tried to overtake the commercial bus which was already ahead of the rider on the narrowed two lane road which  proved  risky thus  leading to the  collision  at the edge of the road’s drainage..

The  accident left the passenger on the okada heavily injured, before other passengers dropped out of the commercial bus to support  the victim which led to a  crowd gathering in the area  as residents and neighborhood  came for a rescue mission..

Sourcestold Paedia Express Multimedia that the accident occurred just a few distance away from a well known  hotel known as Ellis Suites Hotel, which is the only single supplier of the halogen street light used by road users of that area at night, commonly frequented by the okada riders,

The okada man  pleaded guilty after much accusations and seeing that he was in a no- position to  escape like he would have done if he had the chance to, a ransom was requested of him to clear the hospital bills of the victim involved.
