 C.L.O WARNS ON ELECTORAL VIOLENCE,INSECURITY HUMAN RIGHTS

EDITORIAL OPINION:
PAEDIA EXPRESS MULTIMEDIA BELIEVES THAT IF THE GOVERNMENT HAVE REASONS TO ARREST TINUBU IT SHOULD JUST GO AHEAD INSTEAD OF USING SUBTLE BLACKMAIL,IT IS GROSSLY UNFAIR TO PUNISH A MAN WITHOUT TELLING THE WORLD HIS SINS.
The Civil liberties organization has warned politicians in the nation to thread carefully as the elections draw near.
The body while briefing a cross section of members of the press recently in Lagos, Nigeria noted that current developments in the land was a deliberate action by politicians to undermine the  gains of democracy gotten since 1999.
The body explained that a lot of Nigerians were now very worried about their safety with escalating incidence of political violence and general insecurity in the land.
The body affirmed that all the negative tendencies that have resurfaced in the polity were not in tandem with a recent peace agreement hatched under the watchful eye of Former Commonwealth Secretary General, Chief Emeka Anyaoku.
The C.L.O claimed that it was worried that recent situations in the land may precipitate voter’s apathy or low turn out during the polls  leading to the delegitimization of the eventual winner of the elections .
The C.L.O however insists that it continues to believe that this will not however be a reason to be used for the military to truncate democracy or for tribal reasons and religious champions to beat the drums of war.
The body pointed out that it was not happy with the way the nation’s security apparatus was  handling issues bothering on political violence in spite of logistical support provided for that.
They lauded the current regime of President Goodluck Jonathan for improving  on the human right credentials of Nigeria and cited a lot of reasons to back up its claims.
