Effective canals or dykes should be constructed in river
tributaries around River Niger/River Benue so that excessive spillage from the
Mountains in the Mambilla Plateau area and the Cameroons instead of leading to
floods and a source of major disaster and national concern will instead be channeled
into drainage canals and then into various farms, farming centre's and
communities in these states for agricultural and domestic purposes.
